LokiTalki Story
Why LokiTalki Doesn’t Have a Subscription Model
Most apps want you to subscribe. Monthly, yearly, sometimes even weekly. You pay whether you use the app every day or forget it exists after the first week.
I don't like this model, especially when it comes to tools people need only occasionally, and I didn't want LokiTalki to become another subscription people have to remember to cancel.
LokiTalki helps founders and people in tech rehearse important pitches, presentations, and technical talks. You might need it for 3 days before an investor meeting, a week before a conference, or a few days before presenting a new strategy to your management team. Once the big day is over, you probably won't need it again for a while.
So why should you pay every month for something you use only when you have an important presentation coming up?
Pay for the rehearsal, not for another subscription
Preparing for a presentation is already stressful enough, particularly if public speaking isn't part of your everyday job. You need to get your script ready, rehearse your delivery, record yourself, listen back, and work out what needs improvement before you face the audience.
The last thing you need is another recurring payment to keep track of.
Subscription models have their place, especially for tools people use continuously. But when an app serves a specific, short-term purpose, I don't see the point of charging users long after they've finished using it.
I also don't want LokiTalki to benefit from people forgetting about their subscriptions. If you buy a plan, I want you to use it to prepare for your presentation, get what you need from it, and move on without worrying about another payment next month.
3 plans, depending on how much practice you need
LokiTalki offers 3 plans designed around the time you might actually spend preparing for an important presentation.
Free — Try it first
Use LokiTalki to see whether it fits your workflow and helps you rehearse. The Free plan includes 3 speech reviews and recording analyses in total, with limited functionality and no saved recordings for later listening.
Sprint — $15 for 3 days
For focused preparation when the big day is approaching, Sprint includes 10 speech reviews, 20 recording analyses, and the ability to save recordings and listen back to them.
Marathon — $24 for 7 days
If you need more time and more opportunities to revise your script and practice your delivery, Marathon includes 20 speech reviews, 40 recording analyses, and saved recordings.
Neither paid plan renews automatically. You pay for the preparation period you choose, and that's it.
The goal is to be ready, not to keep using LokiTalki forever
LokiTalki isn't designed to turn you into a professional public speaker or convince you that you need to practice every day for the rest of your life. It's a practical rehearsal tool for people who know their subject but want to feel better prepared before presenting it to others.
Maybe you need to explain your architecture to a customer, pitch your startup to investors, present a technical talk at a conference, or persuade management to approve a project. Whatever the occasion, the goal is the same: prepare, rehearse, identify what needs work, and show up ready to deliver your message.
If you need LokiTalki again next month, you can choose another plan when that time comes. If you don't, there's nothing to cancel and no recurring charge waiting for you.
That's the deal: pay when you need to rehearse, use the time to prepare, and leave when you're ready.
